The Mongolia flag has four main colors. They are blue, red and yellow. Different colors represent different objects. The blue is the traditional color of Mongolia and represents the blue sky in Mongolia. The red represents the harsh environment in Mongolia, it also represents progress. A small image is put together with the yellow colors. The yellow pieces are separated to small images (from top to bottom) flame, moon and sun, triangles, Yin and Yang, horizontal lines, and vertical lines. The flame represent the past, present, and future. The sun and moon represent the eternity of Mongolia. The two triangles represent Mongolians trying their best to defend their homeland. The two horizontal lines represent justice and honesty. Lastly, the two vertical lines represents strength. The Yin and Yang represents Taoism, and shows opposite forces, light and dark. When these pieces of image were put together it featured the Mongolian national symbol, which is also called the Soyombo.
