The Mongols are an East-Central Asia native group to the Mongol Empire(Outer Mongolia) and Inner Mongolia(China). The Mongols also live in other regions of China. The indigenous dialects are know as the traditional Mongolia language. The Mongol Ancestors in the modern-days are called/referred as Proto-Mongols. In the time when Genghis Khan ruled, the Mongols settled almost everywhere in Asia and Europe. The Eastern Mongolia was divided into three parts in the 17th century. It was split into Inner Mongolia, Outer Mongolia, and the Buryat region in Siberia. There are a lot of Mongol ethnic groups in Mongolia. The ethnic groups in Mongolia includes Baarin, Baatud, Barga, Bayad, Buryat, Selenge Chahar, Chantuu, Darkhad, Dariganga Dörbet Oirat, Eljigin, Khalkha, Hamnigan, Kharchin, Khoid, Khorchin, Hotogoid, Khoton, Huuchid, Myangad, Olots, Sartuul, Torgut, Tümed, Üzemchin, and Zakhchin. The largest ethnic group in Mongolia is the Khalkha Mongols followed by Buryats. The difference between each tribe or ethnic group depends on its country.
